Typical Tooling Lead Times
Tooling and sample lead times are typically 4-6 weeks, depending on part size and complexity.
Maximum Part Size
We can die cast parts up to 31x31x11.5″ (800x800x300mm). Part weights can range from .1-10lbs (0.005-10kgs).
Minimum Draft
Depending on the specifics of the design, a minimum of 0.5 – 1 degree of draft is required
Minimum Draft
±0.005″ (.127mm) for the first inch, and ±0.002″ (.05mm) for each additional inch. Post-machining is available for tighter tolerance applications.
Minimum Wall Thickness
The minimum wall thickness for aluminum die castings is .08″ (2mm). For zinc die castings, the minimum wall thickness is .04″ (1mm).
Minimum Size of Cast Holes
We die cast cored holes as small as .1″ (2.5mm) diameter. Smaller holes will be post-machined.
Post-Machining & Tapped Holes
We specialize in post-machining die castings and can accommodate any standard thread sizes.
Surface Finish
Standard as-cast surface finish for die castings is 63 Ra (micro-inch).
